Aims of the course:

• Focus on the study of blockchain within the digital technology sector
• offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge
• Understand the factors involved in data program development in Python
• Provide the learner with in-depth knowledge and understanding of blockchain
• Provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical skills, including planning and creating a program, Know about methods of testing code
• Understand the basics of cryptography, transactions in blockchain and how consensus mechanisms validate ledgers
• Plan, create and review a program in their chosen programming language.

Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Blockchain enable learners to:

• Apply factual, procedural and theoretical subject knowledge
• Use relevant knowledge and methods to address complex, non-routine problems
• Interpret and evaluate relevant information and ideas
• Understand the nature of the area of study or work
• Demonstrate an awareness of different perspectives and approaches

Structure:
To be awarded the Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Blockchain learners must successfully complete 6 mandatory units.

• Understanding Security Practices in Blockchain
• Introduction to the Use of Programming for Blockchain
• Understanding Smart Contracts
• Blockchain Challenges
• Blockchain Opportunities

How the course is delivered:

This course is delivered via a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which provides access to case studies, learning materials and activities, presentations and web links. Online tutor support and guidance is provided throughout the course, where learners can interact with the tutors, get feedback on their progress and submit their work electronically. This helps you to build the relevant skills progressively, as you receive feedback and support from your tutor during this time. As the course is delivered online, this enables learners to study any time, any place through immediate access to VLE.

• There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification. However, learners may find it helpful if they have already achieved a level 3 qualification.
