• Chemistry for Health – Introduces key concepts of general, organic and biological chemistry that underpin medical sciences.

• Physics for Health Sciences – Covers fundamental physical principles, including energy, waves, radiation, and the physics of the human body.

• Mathematics for Scientists – Provides mathematical tools and techniques used in scientific investigation and analysis.

• Study Skills for Higher Education – Prepares students for the academic expectations of university, including research, referencing, critical thinking, and essay writing.

• Professional Practice in Healthcare – Explores the roles, responsibilities and ethical considerations in the healthcare sector.

• Psychology and Human Behaviour – Examines psychological theories, models of behaviour, and their application in medical settings.

To enrol on the Access to Higher Education Diploma for Medicine, students should meet the following requirements:

• Be aged 19 or over at the start of the course.

• Have GCSEs in English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

• A strong interest in pursuing a career in medicine or healthcare.

• Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency in English, for example by achieving an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.

Students who successfully complete the Access to Higher Education Diploma for Medicine can progress to a variety of degree programmes, including:
